2015 Barbel Stocking Programme

The ATAA is actively working with the EA to maintain our precious barbel stocks through the implementation of an annual stocking programme. Our aim is to ensure that the future of quality barbel fishing is guaranteed for generations to come. A total of 4,500 juvenile fish have been introduced into the river Frome since 2012.

  1. I agree you cant beat a good square of luncheon meat for the best of fish.

  2. Agreed, Maurice. Absolutely unnecessary to use boilies in my view and totally against the spirit of barbel fishing. Haven't fished for barbel in a while. Do we really have many members who use them?

  3. I say lets all agree not to use stupid boilies etc so they dont get spoiled. I am prepared to go as far as Co-op luncheon meat. Possibly chopped ham and pork. What does anyone else think. Maybe a boilie ban!
